www.Amsterdam (wild, wacky and wonderful)

Well, I have decided to return to Amsterdam, figuratively that is....

Your assignment, if you choose to accept it....As you are sorting through the various photos, 5 brownie points to those who can pick up on one item that shows up twice. (This blog will now self destruct in 5 seconds)

Still there? OK, first test. What is so unusual about this photo?

Oh yes, how did that get there???

I am confused, are you? Come on, pick a style and go with it!

If you ever get a chance to try this beer you won't be disappointed...

Why pay all that money to go into a museum, when some of the classics are outside for "gratis"

OK, so the guy with the Mickie Mouse ears may lower the price on this one...

Fabulous architecture is everywhere...

Well, at least it doesn't say "Feel free to smell my cheese"

Some more free artwork....

What are we all waiting for?

For those who missed my attempt at humor...."the cows to come home".

You think you had a rough night, check this guy out.

Somehow I think the fish is going to be worse off than our last fellow...

Orange you glad you came to Amsterdam? Orange you glad you are reading my blog? OK, no more orange, but that is near impossible in Holland...

Anybody pick on the item that repeated itself? Well, here's a clue...

And no it doesn't signify the "Red Light" district.

It is actually... The coat of arms of Amsterdam is the official symbol of the city of Amsterdam. It consists of a red and black shield with three silver Saint Andrew's Crosses, the Imperial Crown of Austria, two golden lions, and the motto of Amsterdam. Several heraldic elements have their basis in the history of Amsterdam. The crosses and the crown can be found as decorations on different locations in the city. Read more about it here:

Bored with too much time on my hands tonight

Ever get tired of doing paperwork, watching the tube, cleaning the house (OK, maybe that went a little too far)....but you get my drift. Every once in a blue moon you just have to get creative and play a little. Photo manipulating software is so amazing these days, the possibilities seem endless.

Amsterdam Trip

Well, we went off on an adventure last week. A short two hour flight and we were in the Netherlands. Such a laid back place for such a large city. Amsterdam had so much to offer in the way of culture, food and interesting sights.

Here a few sights that we came across and probably what many people associate with Holland:

Flowers. Unfortunately, we ran out of time before we ever had the opportunity to visit any tulip fields, but there were some wonderful flower markets scattered about the town.

Wooden shoes. Plenty of these on display at all of the tourist shops. Funny, I didn't see any of the locals wearing any though. They are even selling this design in a soft, slipper design now, so you to can now be fashionable on your way to a good night's sleep.

Say "Cheese!" Yes, a plethora of cheese (and smells) await those who visit Amsterdam. Every kind of cheese for every kind of taste can be found.

Well, I have one more short blog to write before I surrender the laptop to Chris. The blog will be out of action for awhile. But before I go....it is off to Paris on a high speed (4 hour) train ride from Amsterdam.
