www.Amsterdam (wild, wacky and wonderful)

Well, I have decided to return to Amsterdam, figuratively that is....

Your assignment, if you choose to accept it....As you are sorting through the various photos, 5 brownie points to those who can pick up on one item that shows up twice. (This blog will now self destruct in 5 seconds)

Still there? OK, first test. What is so unusual about this photo?

Oh yes, how did that get there???

I am confused, are you? Come on, pick a style and go with it!

If you ever get a chance to try this beer you won't be disappointed...

Why pay all that money to go into a museum, when some of the classics are outside for "gratis"

OK, so the guy with the Mickie Mouse ears may lower the price on this one...

Fabulous architecture is everywhere...

Well, at least it doesn't say "Feel free to smell my cheese"

Some more free artwork....

What are we all waiting for?

For those who missed my attempt at humor...."the cows to come home".

You think you had a rough night, check this guy out.

Somehow I think the fish is going to be worse off than our last fellow...

Orange you glad you came to Amsterdam? Orange you glad you are reading my blog? OK, no more orange, but that is near impossible in Holland...

Anybody pick on the item that repeated itself? Well, here's a clue...

And no it doesn't signify the "Red Light" district.

It is actually... The coat of arms of Amsterdam is the official symbol of the city of Amsterdam. It consists of a red and black shield with three silver Saint Andrew's Crosses, the Imperial Crown of Austria, two golden lions, and the motto of Amsterdam. Several heraldic elements have their basis in the history of Amsterdam. The crosses and the crown can be found as decorations on different locations in the city. Read more about it here:

Blast from the Past - # 5

Guess who turned 21 on this day?

Yes, you guessed correctly...

Looks delicious.....

It was a grand day out for my girls in Williamsburg....

And to top off the evening, cake!!!! I seem to recall Chris and I making a mad dash to one of the local supermarkets for this birthday cake before Britt came home from work or was that on one of her other birthdays? Oh well, 1/2 a Brownie point for the parents anyways!

Proof that I not slacking off (well, not too much)

This posting is for Chris....

Yes dear, I am feeding our little friends. In fact there are a bunch of them happily feeding on this morning's seed extravaganza as I type this up...

Proof of life picture... I'll try not to kill the plants this time!

Oops, how did this one get in there. OK, so I'll do the dishes later on this morning...

But I do have to put my foot down on this one. This will be the norm until you return, the bed will not be made on a daily basis and that's final.....
Well, if you let me.

Do I at least get some brownie points for feeding the birds and watering the plants? No, I didn't think so.

Brownie Points!!!

Well, if you recall my posting from 17 Aug, you will have noticed that I missed a prime opportunity to score some "Brownie Points" with the wife. And as my friends have pointed out several times, brownie points are highly perishable so you have to keep accumulating them on a regular basis.

So after my "boys only" weekend at a friend's "Hytte" (cabin), I thought it best to do what I should have done the first time we passed the "self-pick" field of sunflowers.

Here are the official greeters to the farm....

And the Norwegian sign that welcomes you to the place. Basically it tells you that the sunflowers are about 1 buck a piece, gives you some helpful hints on picking, how to care for them and "To have a nice day!"

Aha, the first victim....

And here they are looking ever so lovely in their new home...Ronaldo looks, he shoots, he scores...Brownie Points in the bag.
