The weather, now there's an original topic of discussion - Not!

Well, we finally got a little snow last night and some flurries today. I'd say about 1/2 " to 1" total snowfall, a minuscule amount for this country. Not quite like the New England blast that my parents and sister are going through. I would venture to say that the lack of snow here is due to global warming, but dang it's cold outside. The temperature is at -2 Celsius (28.4 F). The sun rose at 9:18am and set at 3:25pm, yes you read that correctly. The winter months are dark for long stretches at a time, especially if you spend most of the day inside a building...dark when I go to work and dark when I head home. I do have to say that my commute is one of the best I have had in my career. It is a 5 min walk (no car, no traffic, no hassle). Quite unlike my tour in Norfolk, VA where the distance to work was 16 miles as the crow flies, but would often take me 1 to 2 hours to get home. I can honestly say "I don't miss it"!

Oops...got to run....Chris just informed me that dinner is ready. She was looking at the Dutch and German cookbooks earlier on....who knows what culinary delights await.

I am back, it is 11:56pm and I am wide awake after falling asleep for a short nap on the sofa after a hearty portion of pork tenderloin cutlets served with homemade garlic mashed potatoes. Well, it didn't have a Dutch or German flair to it, but it was still good eatin'. And as Chris always says, "tastes great when someone else is doing the cooking (and cleaning up I might add)". Speaking of cooking, Chris just received her new issue of "Sunset magazine"...can't wait to read the recipe section for some new, fresh ideas on "west coast style" food.
