Boxes on the Balcony

This summer we decided against planting our usual array of colorful flowers, and went with a delicious assortment of things that we could use in our dinners. Here you see some of our cherry tomatoes. We also planted some traditional basil, a reddish lemon-basil, rosemary, and chives. Along side the edibles, we have some English ivy and red geraniums.

Besides allowing us to put a little "countryside" into our city apartment, our little balcony has provided a great space for us to enjoy the sun, sounds and sights of Oslo. From our morning breakfasts, late night BBQ dinners to our adventurous "Tequila sunrise" we have certainly made use of this outdoor space. Not to mention the local birds (sparrows, seagulls, European Magpies, Doves) just love Chris and her birdseed treats.
