Happy Halloween to everyone! This is one of
Chris' favorite times of the year and this year
we decided to volunteer our time to help out
at the church. Can anyone find Chris in the
picture? And what am I doing with that log
in my hand? That is the Pastor in the cowboy
hat, a great guy with a great sense of community,
humor and faith.
Well, it was a chilly, and at times wet, Halloween
evening. Fortunately, the weather did not deter
the kids (and their ever so brave parents) from
coming out in droves. We were told that this
neighborhood usually gets around 2,000 kids
at Halloween. Well, I don't think we hit the
2,000 mark because of the rain, but I bet we
went over 1,000.
A couple of photos from the
night....
The cowboy/cowgirl were real, they
own a horse farm in East Asheville.
One of Chris' favorite costumes of
the night, Dad in a banana suit
holding his monkey child.
Well, as Chris helped hand out candy, here's
how I spent the evening. I stoked the fire
and helped roast marshmallows for all the
passer's by. The fire was a big hit, especially
late in the evening as the weather got colder
and wetter. Credit for this idea of having
the fire/marshmallow roast goes to the
gentlemen in the orange hat.
