When you said country living, did you really mean it?

So, every time we talk to one of our neighbors,
we get to hear an interesting story, a recent event
or one prior to us moving in to the "Cove".

A few weeks ago, we got to hear about the
"BLACK BEAR"!! Yes, a full grown adult
was wondering around the Cove. Of course,
it was on the look out for food, and we would
like to think not the human kind. Actually,
he was after this... Honey (see below for the
aftermath after he attacked our neighbor's
honey hives). He eventually ended up moving
his hives after the high power electric fence
installed around the hives failed to stop our
unwelcome visitor. The bear was also very
fond of a barrel full of organic candy canes
that were being used to feed the bees. We
were told that we should take down our bird
feeders, copy that! Come to think of it....
It wasn't high winds that put a huge bend in
the aluminum pole holding up one of our
bird feeders....Bad Bear, Bad, Bad Bear!

I am happy to say, no bear sightings over the
past week and the birds will be very grateful
when we start feeding them again.

And if the BLACK BEAR wasn't enough...
Check this baby out!!!

Our second unwanted visitor was found by me
one morning on my way down to look at our
strawberry patch. We are still not sure what
kind of snake he is, so if any of you know please
let us know. Chris, who was at the top of our
stone stairs, said when I told her about it her
feet became Gecko-like and stuck to the stone.

On a lighter note, we had a wild turkey wonder
thru the yard just shortly after we spotted the
snake.

No, it is not an alien invader, just a close up
of an insect on our living room window.
Creatures large and small out here in the
country.

We have started putting up little touches here
and there around the house. Here is a sign
that we bought in Norway -- It says "Welcome".
And our course our "Tin Man" in the corner
waits to meet our visitors.

So exciting, but also frightening.

I have such a problem with choosing a color for the livingroom, Chris. the dinning furnitures are in eggshell color, do you have any ideal? Have a nice week end.

Veslemøy,

Chris is still thinking about the color, but she thinks maybe a warm yellow.
