Cove Community Project - THE CULVERT

Well, the day started out with a goal or two in
mind, putting in a culvert was not one of them.
We had decided early in the morning that we
would head into town to go watch the Dutch
play the Brazilians in World Cup action, WRONG!

Our roadway out was blocked, YIKES! After a little
pouting by you know who, we got into the spirit of
the community project that was long overdue.

An old metal culvert, put in the ground in the
80's, had rusted out and was not functioning
properly. A while back the community got
together and decided to replace the culvert,
timeline TBD....

Timeline update...Let's put it in today!

We hired a back hoe for the heavy lifting...

Precision placement and sealing of the two
sections of culvert...

A tarp to help catch and control the silt...

A few detractors during the work day:

Mr. Crawdad....

And a couple of courting peacocks...

Placement of the stones...

Placement of the stones continued....

Putting on the capstones, almost there!

Pretty much the finished product, besides
smoothing out the road and new grass. Looks
dang nice!
