Critters around our Country House

Why Hello! Glad you stopped by
our blog for a visit. I'll be your host
for the day, just call me "K", that's
"K" for "Kute" if you didn't know.

First up is our shiny friend the "Blue-tailed
Skink". Here he is in one of his favorite spots,
the wood pile. Quick little fellow.

One of my personal favorites, the butterfly.
This one is taking a well earned rest on a
Carolina lily. In 2003, this flower was
designated the official North Carolina
wildflower.

Oh yes, and my personal least
favorite....a snake. Well, on the
other paw, he is stiffer than an
overcooked pancake, so that's a
good thing.

I think Mr. Bee has similar issues...

Gadzooks, what the heck? A unique sighting
of a "Velvet Ant". Great name for a rock band,
or this little creature, also known as "Mutillidae".
They come from the wasp family, and the females
are wingless and resemble ants. However, I
would not try to pet this one, their sting is
extremely painful and have been nicknamed
"cow killers".

Well, if it isn't Mr. Lizard. This guy is so tough
that "Mr. GEICO" wouldn't stand a chance if
these two met in a ring. No mamby pamby
commercials and cushy offices for this dude,
he is a country boy, just lost his momma... his
paycheck... and his best friend just rode off with
his girl. Time to head to the pool hall, grab a
cold one and write a song about it.

Hey wait a minute, how did this one get in
there.

Here we are in the honey house with the
guys....
Hope you enjoyed the tour, you can
leave your tips by the door as you
exit. Credit cards, cash and "Pounce"
(cat treats) all accepted.

I love the pictures in this post, the cat is just extremely cute. They're all killer pics but I my favourites are the lizard and Mutillidae. That looks like a tough lizard and I might use "Velvet Ant" as a song name, just so you know, haha.

Cool, what a killer title for a song. Look forward to seeing some lyrics.

Hope all is going well with treatments. You guys are in our thoughts.
