Merry Christmas to me! I have been looking
at bars for over a year now, searching in stores,
online and in antique shops. I finally came
across a bar that we both liked and was not
outrageously priced.
We were pleasantly surprised that the bar was
even delivered yesterday, the weather was
starting to turn pretty nasty with rain and
occasional sleet. However, once it was in
the house and set up in the corner of the room
I immediately started filling its nooks and
drawers full of stuff (wine, whisky, glasses,
bar utensils, etc).
On top of the bar is the first beer served, it is a
German beer called "Tucher", along with my
Norwegian bottle opener, homemade pizza,
an Australian wine bottle holder and some British
tap puller signs (John Smiths and Theakstons).
This is still a work in progress, a lot of decorating
to do yet. I have to find some nice bar chairs,
hopefully ones that swivel and allow you to sit
at a nice height. You can see the start of things
to come with the Guinness chalkboard, the
Beefeater's mirror and the Whisky certificate
(more on that a later time), suffice to say that
I am a part owner in a cask of whisky somewhere
in Scotland.
My parents bought me a really nice dartboard last
Christmas, greatly anticipating the first match on
the new board. The Foosball table anxiously awaits
its first hard fought match as well.
THE PUB IS NOW OPEN!
