A Grand Day Out

Well, after a early morning failed attempt to get North Carolina driver licenses the day got increasingly better. Who knew we would actually need to produce our SSN cards to get a license...Do you know where your SSN Card is tonight? The DMV lady directed us to the Social Security Office....from bad to worse....not today bucko. Oh yeah, and we will have to take the written test once we get all of the required paperwork filled out...Oh joy!~~~~

Here are some of the better highlights of the day....

We managed to stop by a local farm to get some free range, organic eggs. The eggs were from a farm located near our property. We managed to meet most of the family living on the farm and to meet most of their animal kingdom. The family was very warm spirited and freely offered a wide range of information on the local area and how they raised their animals. This openness and friendly welcoming is exactly what drew us to the Western North Carolina area.

Just look at these eggs...beautiful colors and a variety of shapes and sizes. Can't wait until breakfast tomorrow!!

And here is one of the contributing hens...

And others from their wild kingdom....

From there it was off to our piece of heaven. Here is one possible view if we build from where I took this photo today...

On the way home we stopped off at this fantastic market called "Green Life". A lot of organic type produce and "organic" type people as well. The people watching is as varied as the produce they sell. I managed to get a type of beer I hadn't seen since my trip to Spain back in the early 90's (me happy man).
